Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that negotiations over a final agreement will not begin as long as U.S. threats continue.
Araqchi wrote on his X account that Iran is not prepared to negotiate under pressure and threats, adding that talks on a final agreement would only be possible after the threats are ended.
Referring to the funeral ceremony of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Araqchi said that neither the Iranian people nor the country’s armed forces would accept any form of threat.
Araqchi’s remarks came after recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who said that if Iran does not reach an agreement with the United States, Washington could target the country’s key infrastructure and energy facilities.
The latest statements from both sides indicate growing tensions in relations between Tehran and Washington.
