Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says its naval and aerospace forces carried out missile and drone strikes targeting 85 key U.S. military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the IRGC said the attacks were launched in response to the United States violation of a ceasefire and recent U.S. strikes in southern Iran.
The IRGC said the operation targeted the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
Earlier, the United States announced that it had struck more than 80 targets along Iran’s southern coast in response to Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
