Iran’s Fars News Agency reports that Iran launched missile and drone strikes against US military bases in five West Asian countries after US forces reportedly attacked several bridges in southern Iran.
According to the agency, the strikes targeted US bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Iraq. Fars also claimed that the King Fahd Causeway, which links Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, was bombed.
Citing an unnamed US official, Fars said American forces targeted several bridges in southern Iran to disrupt supply routes leading to the port city of Bandar Abbas.
The agency also reported that Kuwait’s military activated its air defense systems to intercept incoming Iranian missiles and drones. In Bahrain, warning sirens were sounded, while the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet was also reportedly targeted.
The claims made by Fars have not been independently verified.
