Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that Moscow will respond in kind if Western countries seize Russian commercial vessels, TASS reported.
Putin said Russia would be forced to retaliate if plans to seize Russian vessels are carried out.
He stressed that Russia’s response would not be limited to the areas where its vessels are seized. Instead, Moscow would take action wherever it considers necessary and appropriate, including in the area of responsibility of Russia’s Pacific Fleet.
Putin made the remarks in Russia’s Far Eastern Sakhalin region.
