The Secretariat of the High Commission for Addressing the Problems of Migrants said 192 families, comprising 887 people, returned to Afghanistan and were registered on Friday through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Silk Bridge and Islam Qala crossings.
According to the report, 127 returning families received a total of 950,000 afghanis in cash assistance. Another 39 families, comprising 207 people, were transported from Spin Boldak and Kabul to various provinces. They were also provided with around 193,000 afghanis to cover transportation costs.
The returnees also received food, healthcare and telecommunications services. A total of 116 SIM cards were distributed, while 1,441 patients received medical treatment. Public awareness committees also briefed the returnees on registration, financial assistance, transportation and temporary accommodation.
