The General Directorate of State-Owned Companies said in a statement that its Director General, Mawlawi Ahmad Jan Bilal, met with Iranian Ambassador Alireza Bikdeli in Kabul to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation.
Mawlawi Ahmad Jan Bilal stressed the need to strengthen relations among Islamic countries in the region based on brotherhood. He said the General Directorate of State-Owned Companies is seeking to expand joint cooperation with Iran in the development and production sectors.
The Iranian ambassador also stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan. He said Iran is interested in working with Afghan state-owned companies in the oil, electricity, fertilizer production, improved seed, poultry farming and other related sectors.
The statement said the meeting comes ahead of a planned visit by the Director General of State-Owned Companies to Iran in the near future to finalize petroleum contracts and expand trade. During the visit, he is expected to meet with Iranian officials to discuss cooperation in various sectors.
