International media reported that a passenger plane traveling from Dubai to Israel disappeared from its designated flight path and activated the 7500 hijacking code.
The aircraft was reportedly carrying around 150 Israeli passengers.
Following the activation of the hijacking code, Israeli fighter jets were scrambled, and the cabinet led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an emergency meeting.
The aircraft later deactivated the hijacking code and activated the 7700 emergency code. Its signal subsequently showed that it was in the Tabuk region of Saudi Arabia.
