A 121km road connecting Afghanistan with China through Wakhan district in Badakhshan province will be officially inaugurated today in a ceremony attended by senior government officials.
The road stretches from Broghil Pass to the zero point on the Afghanistan-China border. Its gravel surfacing was completed over three years at a total cost of 365 million Afghanis.
The road was constructed in two phases and is considered a key route for establishing direct land connectivity between Afghanistan and China.
