Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, stated in his address to the UN General Assembly that his country is a firm supporter of peace and stability in Afghanistan. He called on the international community to respect Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Continuing his remarks, Al-Wasel described the humanitarian and economic challenges facing the Afghan people as a matter of concern and urged the global community to step up efforts to provide essential support and urgent assistance.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Wasel noted that Riyadh, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, has implemented a number of humanitarian projects in Afghanistan, across various areas such as food aid, healthcare, education, drinking water, sanitation, and emergency relief.
It is worth noting that just a day earlier, China’s representative to the United Nations had also called on the international community to support Afghanistan’s integration and described the country’s current economic condition as improving.
