The Afghan government has formally approved its economic policy during a meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mawlawi Abdul Ghani Baradar.

According to a statement from the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs, the policy is based on the Islamic economic system and envisions a developed and prosperous Afghanistan. It aims to support domestic production, increase employment, reduce poverty, and promote Islamic social justice.

The statement noted that the policy will play a key role in aligning economic activities nationwide, optimizing resource use, and supporting the growth of the private sector.
