Al-Mersad media outlet, citing its sources, reported that Afghan special forces last night targeted the hideout of individuals involved in the attack on Chinese nationals near the Tajikistan border, in Fayzabad, the capital of Badakhshan province.

According to security sources, the special forces’ operation led to the arrest of a wanted individual along with weapons and other ammunition.

The sources added that preliminary investigations and the detainee’s initial confessions indicate that the attack was planned outside of Afghanistan.

It is worth noting that the sources did not name any specific country; however, the Pakistani regime has recently provided shelter to ISIS, the Resistance Front, and other groups, and many terrorist attacks in the region are being planned from within Pakistan.
