The Center for Security Research and Studies (CRSS) has reported that, in the first three months of the current year, 897 people were killed and 542 others injured as a result of violence in Pakistan.
This report comes as the total casualty toll for 2024 reached 1,028, with 402 security personnel and civilians among those killed.
The center further notes that while the level of violence has decreased by 13% compared to the same period last year, however, 98% of the violent incidents occurred in the conflict-ridden regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The center has also issued a warning, stating that if the current situation continues, the death toll from violence could exceed 3,600 by the end of the year.
