China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, calling the operation “dictatorial” and a clear violation of international law.
The ministry stressed that the action violates Venezuela’s national sovereignty and poses a potential threat to security and stability throughout Latin America.
China also called on the United States to respect international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, and to cease actions that undermine the sovereignty and security of other countries.
