China has welcomed Russia’s decision to formally recognize Afghanistan’s interim government.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Beijing appreciates and welcomes Russia’s move to officially recognize Afghanistan’s interim government.”
“As Afghanistan’s historic neighbor and friend, China has consistently maintained that Afghanistan should be part of the international community and must not be isolated,” she said.
It is worth noting that following Russia’s recognition, political analysts expect China to take a similar step in the near futur.
