According to a report from Iran’s IRNA news agency, a senior official from the country’s traffic police, Hassan Momeni, stated that in the past 12 days, traffic accidents in Iran have resulted in 419 fatalities and left 9,778 people injured.

The report further revealed that approximately 57,000 traffic incidents were recorded during this period, with 80% of them caused by driver negligence.

The majority of these accidents occurred in the provinces of Kerman, Khorasan Razavi, Fars, and Khuzestan.

The sharp increase in accidents has been attributed to the large number of tourists traveling to tourist destinations to celebrate the country’s New Year.
