
The Economic Commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, has approved the allocation of 4,000 Jiribs of land at Abu Nasr Farahi Port for unloading, loading, and other facilities.
In a statement, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs said the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has been tasked to develop the port’s expansion plan and design, and to submit it to the relevant authorities for implementation by the designated deadline.
The statement also confirmed the commission’s approval of a private sector proposal to establish a cold storage facility and juice factory in the center of Ghazni province on land owned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock.
According to the plan, the project will span 35 Jiribs and include a 5,000-ton capacity cold storage unit along with a juice production facility. The total investment is estimated at 140 million Afghanis.
The decisions have been forwarded to the leadership office of the interim government for final approval.
