In the presence of Afghanistan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, and Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Alexey Overchuk, five agreements were signed between the two countries in various sectors.

According to a statement from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the agreements cover cooperation between Afghanistan’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Transport in the fields of transport and transit; expansion of trade relations between the chambers of commerce of both countries; collaboration between major private companies from both sides in the exploration, extraction, and refining of oil and gas in Afghanistan; and the development of a regional trade and industrial-logistics complex.
