The elder brother of Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, former leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, was shot and killed by unidentified armed gunmen outside his home.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan confirmed the incident on his X account, stating: “My elder brother was martyred in front of our home. He was very dear to me and my strength. This is an act of barbarism.”

It is important to note that Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has been a vocal critic of the Pakistani military on various issues. He has led protests in support of Palestine and traveled to the United States to advocate for the release of Aafia Siddiqui. His activism has drawn strong reactions from the Pakistani military, which has repeatedly expressed its displeasure toward him.

There is a prevailing belief that, in recent times, many individuals who criticize the Pakistani military’s actions—either they themselves or their family members are being targeted and killed, with the responsibility attributed to unidentified gunmen.
