The former leader of the Jamiat Party and governor of Balkh during the fallen republic, Atta Mohammad Noor, has said that Afghanistan is known worldwide for its struggle against tyranny and occupiers; however, according to him, some individuals are now engaged in competing to sell the country’s land for personal interests.

He told the former officials of the fallen republic and the leaders of opposition fronts who expressed happiness over Trump’s remarks about gaining Bagram airbase: “Handing over the homeland to foreigners—whether Kabul or Kandahar—has no meaning other than dishonor and trading away national dignity.”

He also responded to Trump’s statements, saying that the “Taliban have never extended their hands toward selling the homeland.”

He added that at present there is no need for the presence or occupation of any foreign power in Afghanistan.
