A meeting chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mawlawi Abdul Ghani Baradar, reviewed a proposal submitted by relevant authorities for the construction of Gulbahar residential and commercial township.
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs stated that the proposal has received initial approval after a thorough assessment of its urban development significance and economic value. It added that a committee, led by the office, has been formed to carry out detailed technical studies.
The committee has been tasked with carrying out comprehensive assessments of the project’s technical, economic, social, and environmental aspects, and submitting its findings to the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
According to the office, the private sector has expressed interest in investing around eight billion dollars in the project. The township is planned to span 11,000 jeribs of land, aiming to provide housing for tens of thousands of citizens while creating thousands of job opportunities.
