Pierre Krahenbuhl, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has reaffirmed the organization’s ongoing commitment to Afghanistan.

He stressed that addressing the needs of Afghans evacuated from neighboring countries remains a top priority for the Committee.

Krahenbuhl also highlighted that, over the past years, the ICRC has implemented extensive programs through the Afghan Red Crescent Society and will continue to work closely with the society in the future.

This statement comes as the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries has intensified in recent years.
