The Wall Street Journal reports that Iran’s March 3 drone strike on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh caused significantly more damage than has been publicly disclosed.

According to sources, two drones hit the embassy in quick succession, penetrating the compound and impacting several secured areas, including those used by intelligence personnel.

Reports noted that the explosions damaged several floors and triggered fires that burned for nearly half a day, leaving some areas beyond repair.

Saudi officials initially downplayed the damage, but U.S. authorities confirmed that the attack was far more severe.
