Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that it has targeted a second vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, as the United States continues its latest strikes against Iran.
In a statement, the IRGC said it targeted the second vessel because, according to its claims, it had violated the regulations in force in the Strait of Hormuz.
The announcement came after the IRGC had earlier claimed responsibility for an attack on a commercial vessel, prompting the United States to carry out new airstrikes against Iran in response.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said that local authorities had rescued the crew of a vessel that had been involved in an incident approximately 9 nautical miles east of Oman.
