A recent survey conducted by the Israeli Security Research Institute shows that public trust in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has fallen sharply, with only 23 percent of respondents expressing confidence in its leadership.

The survey also reveals a noticeable decline in trust in the Israeli military and its top command. Currently, 77 percent of the public say they trust the military, down from 83 percent in May.

According to the results, 61 percent of Israelis believe that the ongoing military offensive on Gaza will not lead to the release of Israeli prisoners. Meanwhile, 25 percent still believe the campaign will weaken Hamas and secure the prisoners’ release.

The poll further shows that 52 percent of respondents hold Netanyahu’s government responsible for obstructing a possible prisoner exchange deal.

In addition, 36 percent of Israelis say they are concerned about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, while 62 percent report no such concern.
