According to Pakistani media reports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has opposed the central government’s policy on the expulsion of Afghan refugees. Speaking at a press conference, he stated that Afghan refugees should not be forcibly deported.
Gandapur criticized the central government’s policy as inadequate and flawed, arguing that previous decisions regarding the expulsion of Afghan refugees had also involved violations of human rights.
His remarks come as the Pakistani government has set March 31 as the final deadline for the voluntary departure of “illegal immigrants” and Afghan nationals holding residence cards.
