The Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolphe Haykal, has traveled to London at the official invitation of his British counterpart.
The Lebanese Army said that during the visit, General Haykal held talks with British officials on expanding military cooperation between the two countries and exploring ways to strengthen support for the Lebanese Armed Forces.
Haykal expressed his appreciation for the United Kingdom’s continued military and technical assistance. He also discussed Lebanon’s security, border protection, the challenges facing the Lebanese Army, and efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire in Lebanon with senior British officials.
The visit comes at a time when the security situation in southern Lebanon has become increasingly tense due to ongoing clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli regime.
