    Members of ISIS Led by 19-Year-Old Girl Arrested in Uzbekistan

    Uzbekistan’s “Gazeta Uzbek” website, citing security officials, reported that 16 members of the ISIS-Khorasan group were arrested in the city of Namangan, with the group reportedly led by a 19-year-old girl.

    According to the source, the arrests occurred during a raid on a secret gathering of the group, where all 16 individuals were present.

    Authorities seized 37 mobile phones, 51 books, 40 DVDs, 4 flash drives, a laptop, and a tablet from the detainees.

    It is also reported that the 19-year-old group leader, whose identity has not been disclosed, had studied in Turkey, where she was recruited by ISIS before returning to Uzbekistan.
