Officials from the Herat Directorate of Industry and Commerce have announced that, for the first time, the process of importing oil into Afghanistan through the Herat–Khaf railway has begun.

According to the information, the first shipment, which arrived from Iran two days ago, included 20 wagons of diesel fuel.

The officials also stated that in the coming days, an additional 180 wagons of oil will be imported through the same route.

The Ministry of Public Works has assured that with the start of oil imports via the railway, a significant decrease in fuel prices is expected.
