Ittihad al-Mujahideen, in a statement, claimed responsibility for a car bomb attack carried out early this morning at around 5:00 AM on a key base of Pakistani border forces in Bannu district. Following the explosion, four of their fighters entered the base and engaged in a firefight.

According to the information provided, one of the four fighters lost his life, while the remaining three are still fighting.

So far, 34 Pakistani security personnel have been killed and around 20 others injured in the attack.

Ittihad al-Mujahideen rejected the Pakistani government’s claim that the attack had ended, stating that the battle is ongoing and that their fighters have taken control of most parts of the military base.
