Manzoor Ahmad Pashteen, leader of the Pashtun Protection Movement (PTM), accused the Pakistani military of carrying out unprecedented brutality under the pretext of counterterrorism operations.
Speaking after the Mir Ali incident in North Waziristan, he said the army shifted responsibility for its failed policies onto local communities and carried out deadly strikes on civilian homes and villages, leaving women and children among the casualties.
Pashteen condemned the attacks, saying the operations have driven Kurram residents from their homes and pushed displaced families into protest encampments in Peshawar.
He said any impartial observer would see these actions not as counterterrorism but as blatant, brutal acts of terrorism.
Pashteen urged Pashtuns and human rights activists to back the Kurram protesters and to denounce the military’s abuses.
