The Urban Water Supply & Sewerage State‑Owned Corporation has launched a project to provide electricity to 14 water pumps in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, with each pump receiving a six-kilowatt power connection.
According to the corporation’s General Directorate, the 12-million-Afghani project is being implemented with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Local officials said the project is expected to be completed within two months, providing nearly 10,000 households in Jalalabad with reliable access to clean and safe drinking water.
