The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his Brazilian counterpart, Lula da Silva.

According to the statement, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, placing particular emphasis on the current situation in Venezuela.

Sputnik reported that the leaders underlined their common stance on Venezuela, highlighting the need to protect the country’s sovereignty and uphold its national interests.

Venezuela, whose president was recently abducted by the United States, reportedly owes Russia billions of dollars.
