The Iranian government has announced the signing of a $25 billion agreement with Russia, under which the Russian company “Rosatom” will construct four new nuclear power plants in Iran’s Hormozgan province.
According to Iran’s state news agency, the project will be implemented on 500 hectares of land in the Sirik region, with each plant having a production capacity of 1,225 megawatts and a total combined capacity of 5,020 megawatts.
It is worth noting that Iran currently has only one operational nuclear power plant with a production capacity of 1,000 megawatts, located in the city of Bushehr.
