The Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that its forces launched a missile strike on a restaurant in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, targeting what it described as a meeting of Ukrainian military officers and Western advisors.

The ministry claimed that at least 85 individuals, including Ukrainian soldiers, were killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials said the strike was the deadliest carried out by Moscow this year. According to them, 19 individuals, including nine children, were killed in the incident.

This deadly attack comes amid renewed hopes for peace talks between the two countries, with growing expectations that the war could eventually come to an end.
