The Nangarhar Media Center has announced that a high-ranking government delegation from Kabul is scheduled to visit the Torkham border today to address the ongoing issues and work towards reopening the crossing.
According to the source, the delegation will engage in discussions with Pakistani officials to resolve the current problems and expedite the reopening of the Torkham crossing.
Abdul Jabbar Hikmat, the Torkham commissioner, stated that a meeting was held yesterday afternoon, attended by Nangarhar’s Deputy Governor Azizullah Mustafa and a Pakistani delegation. However, these negotiations did not yield any results.
It is noteworthy that three days ago, Pakistani authorities closed the Torkham crossing to both travelers and commercial vehicles, and there has been no update on its reopening since.
