Shah Mahmood Miakhel: They (the Republic officials) did not acknowledge their problems, were trapped in false pride, dominated by denial, and viewed foreigners as problem solvers.
During the fallen Republic, Acting Minister of Defense, Shah Mahmood Miakhel, stated in an article that the rulers failed to seize opportunities; instead, they turned many of those opportunities into crises.
He added that they had no mechanism or strategy for a stable future of Afghanistan that could steer the country out of crisis and toward prosperity and lasting peace.
He further noted that they did not accept their own shortcomings, were caught in false pride, dominated by denial, and relied on foreigners to solve their problems.
Although Miakhel did not name a specific administration, he implied that such incompetence and issues were most visible under the fallen Republic.
