In recent days, Pakistani media outlets have published reports under various headlines claiming that Afghanistan’s Interior Minister, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, has resigned.

A source told Voice of Hindukush that these reports are false and confirmed that the interior minister has not submitted his resignation.

“Pakistani media are spreading baseless rumors and false portrayals of Afghanistan’s interim government. As always, their goal is to create unrest and weaken the trust and unity among Afghans,” the source stated.

The source added that Pakistan is using negative propaganda against the Afghan government to divert attention from its own security failures and internal crises.
