Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that, after a 20-year hiatus, it has agreed to restore diplomatic relations with South Korea.
According to reports, Syrian Foreign Minister As’ad al-Shibani and South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul have signed an agreement under which both countries will reopen their embassies and exchange diplomatic envoys.
It is worth noting that, following recent developments in Syria, many countries around the world have resumed diplomatic ties with the country.
