The Central Bank of Syria has announced that a new currency will be introduced to the market starting in 2026, alongside the gradual collection and withdrawal of current banknotes.
Bank officials stated that the process will be implemented gradually and all details will be shared with the public before it takes effect.
Having recently emerged from years of civil war, Syria’s central government is currently focused on rebuilding the economy, public infrastructure, and state institutions.
