According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Ministry of Defense has announced that the Syrian government has officially requested support from Ankara to strengthen its defense capabilities and assist in combating terrorist groups, particularly ISIS.
The source stated that the Turkish Defense Ministry assured it would continue providing military training, advisory support, and technical assistance in response to Syria’s request.
This request comes as tensions remain high in Syria’s southern Suwayda province, where government forces are still trying to fully regain control.
