In a press release, the Ministry stated that during a meeting of the technical delegation for the prevention of land grabbing in Balkh province, more than 16,000 acres of land were identified and confirmed as state property.

The press release adds that in Marmal district, 14,562 acres of land, in the Shahid Balkhi township in the ninth district of Mazar-e-Sharif city, 808 acres of land, in the Dasht-e-Shor area, 680 acres of land in the Hashimi township, and in the Baba Awaz village of Sholgara district, over 59 acres of land were discussed and reviewed.

After discussion and review the technical delegation identified these areas as state property, the technical committee decided that the cases of these lands should be referred to the central commission for a final decision.

It’s important to note that over the past three years, the Ministry of Justice and the Commission for the Prevention of Land Grabbing have successfully reclaimed thousands of acres of land from land grabbers and the effort is still in progress.
