Pashto literature has once again been enriched by the powerful emotions of a revolutionary poet. The Shahbaz Publishing House has published the poetry collection of the renowned fighter, writer, and poet Umar Khalid Khurasani (Abdul Wali) under the title Spin Janoon (White Madness).

Khurasani was not only a strong voice in the field of poetry but also gained considerable fame due to his armed struggle. He was one of the founding members of the Pakistani Taliban movement, for whom the United States had set a reward of three million dollars in exchange for initial intelligence information.

His poetry, written in the light of religious values, heroic emotions, and the spirit of resistance, had already won the hearts of many readers. Now, in the form of Spin Janoon, his poetry collection adds a new contribution to Pashto literature that will forever remain prominent in the pages of history.

In 2022, while traveling with several of his companions, Khurasani’s vehicle was struck by a powerful explosion. In this blast, not only Khurasani but also several of his close companions lost their lives.

Thus, Khurasani, who had earned a unique place through his struggle, thoughts, and poetry, became a victim of a sudden attack. While his untimely death was a great loss to his supporters, his poetry and ideas remain alive, and through Spin Janoon, they will continue to be a lasting part of literature and history.
