    Analysis

The Attack on Iran and Its Dimensions:
On June 13, 2025, the Zionist regime of Israel launched an attack on Iran, targeting several important nuclear and military facilities, including high-ranking commanders of the Iranian armed forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Although the operation carried multiple messages, it was publicly portrayed as an effort to weaken Iran’s nuclear program and undermine its military and intelligence institutions.

The global community has yet to recover from the aftermath of this attack, and various dimensions of the incident continue to emerge day by day. The Israeli strike, which targeted Iran’s sensitive facilities, was not merely a foreign assault—there is compelling evidence that this operation was also executed with assistance from internal elements within Iran.

Espionage Activities of the Resistance Front:
The Resistance Front, which has claimed an imaginary presence in Afghanistan for about four years, no longer has a physical presence there. However, under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud, it has become a sold-out group engaging in every vile act and knocking on every foreign door in pursuit of support for its illegitimate activities.

The Resistance Front has a long history of espionage spanning decades, with numerous confirmed accounts of it spying for both Eastern and Western blocs simultaneously. This time, however, their espionage networks and connections appear even more extensive and complex. The front has established ties with various intelligence agencies, countries, and groups. In recent times, their visible collaboration and plea for support from France and the Israeli regime are clear examples.

    Ties with Israel:
According to the Associated Press, Ahmad Massoud stated in an interview with Maariv that, “We need the support of anyone willing to help us, including Israel.” Similarly, the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post published a report in 2023 echoing the same. These remarks were not only morally reprehensible and distant from Islamic values but also highlighted the deep affinity and connection between Ahmad Massoud and Israel.

For Ahmad Massoud, the identity of his supporters is irrelevant; what matters is safeguarding his personal and familial interests through foreign backing—whether it comes from Israel, France, or any other country. The deep ties between the Massoud family and Jewish figures like the millionaire and espionage agent Bernard-Henri Lévy are evident. They collaborated with him, received aid, and enjoyed his support.

    Ties with France:
Ahmad Massoud and his family, following in the footsteps of Ahmad Shah Massoud, have long-standing ties with France stretching back decades. Their warm relationship significantly influences the Resistance Front’s espionage activities, with France and Israel being their most committed backers. Recently, Ahmad Massoud again traveled to France for a conference, where he met with several current and former French officials.

Israel, France, and the Western bloc at large harbor both open and covert hostilities toward the Iranian regime—hostilities that have sometimes escalated into full-scale conflict. Yet, Iran has provided office space, facilities, and housing for a group that maintains ties with all anti-Iranian intelligence agencies, countries, and actors and operates in alignment with their interests.

    A War in Israel’s Favor:
Israel’s recent attacks on Iran were precise and targeted, achieving their intended goals despite their limited scale. These operations were not solely external—they also involved internal strikes on specific targets, which could only have been carried out by proxy groups with close ties to the Zionist regime. Such proxy groups often engage in espionage for foreign interests and leak sensitive information to external intelligence agencies in exchange for support.

Given that the Resistance Front currently has no presence in Afghanistan and that many of its members reside in countries like Iran, it is highly likely that the group played a role in the recent Israel–Iran conflict. Without foreign support and patronage, the group’s survival would be in jeopardy.

    Impacts:
Members of the Resistance Front currently residing in Iran have, under encouragement from anti-Iranian forces, engaged in the following actions:

    1. Threatening Iran’s national security.
    2. Increasing theft and other criminal activities to portray Iran as weak in maintaining internal security.
    3. Conducting espionage for Mossad and other intelligence agencies under the guise of resistance.
    4. Destabilizing Iran.
    5. Threatening regional security.

    Recommendations:
Therefore, it is crucial for Iran to conduct a comprehensive reassessment and deep investigation into these internal elements, their funding sources, connections, and objectives. The state must identify and neutralize individuals—particularly within the Resistance Front and other Iran-based groups—who pose a threat to Iran and regional security, disrupt public psychological peace via social media, and participate in dangerous conflicts that foster long-term instability in Iran, Afghanistan, and the broader region.
Iran must carry out detailed investigations into the funding, liaisons, and foreign affiliations of Resistance Front members. If evidence of treason is found, those responsible should be prosecuted. The government should also inform the public through media and social networks, revealing the truth behind deceptive slogans and exposing the intelligence goals they conceal. Additionally, Iran should launch an academic and cultural campaign to educate the public on how groups such as the Resistance Front are being used as tools by Iran’s enemies under the pretense of resistance and similar causes.
