As tensions rise between Washington and Caracas, the U.S. Navy’s USS Gerald R. Ford has positioned itself in the Caribbean Sea near Venezuela.

The move follows heightened tensions over drug trafficking from Venezuela to the United States, with U.S. officials stressing it is part of regular naval operations to ensure maritime safety.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has accused Washington of pursuing regime change, claiming the United States seeks to install a puppet government in Caracas.
