U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) says American forces carried out strikes against Iran on July 19 for the ninth consecutive night, targeting military command facilities, air defense and coastal surveillance sites, naval assets, missile and drone launch positions, and communications networks.
CENTCOM said the strikes were intended to reduce Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping and civilian maritime traffic transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that explosions were heard during the latest U.S. strikes in the cities of Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Mahshahr, and Bandar Imam Khomeini.
Separately, Iran claimed that during the 22nd wave of its “Nasr 2” operation, it targeted a U.S. early warning radar, an aviation equipment storage facility, and an MQ-9 drone hangar at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. Iran also claimed that several drones were destroyed in the attack.
