US Department of Defense: Assessments Indicate Iran’s Nuclear Program Was Delayed, Not Destroyed

The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) says its assessments indicate that the recent American strikes did not completely destroy Iran’s nuclear program but may have delayed it for several months.

According to the Pentagon, the airstrikes only damaged the buildings of nuclear facilities, while enriched uranium stockpiles were not destroyed in the bombardment, and most of the centrifuges remained intact.

Additionally, sources in Pentagon told CBS News that Iran had moved some of its uranium to another location before the strikes.

Meanwhile, a few hours after the US attacks, Iran’s president stated that a close friendly country had advised them six days earlier to transfer sensitive materials, and that they had evacuated their nuclear sites before the bombardment, resulting in minimal damage.

The White House, however, rejected the Pentagon’s assessment and stated—echoing President Trump—that the US strikes two days ago had completely destroyed Iran’s nuclear program.

It is worth noting that a few days ago, the US launched attacks on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities using advanced B-2 bomber aircraft. Following the operation, President Donald Trump claimed that the strikes had entirely eliminated Iran’s nuclear facilities.
