The Wall Street Journal reported that senior White House officials have told Donald Trump that Iran’s resistance could prolong the war with the country until 2029, conflicting with his statements about achieving a quick victory and bringing the war to an end.

The report says that JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and other officials have privately expressed concerns about Iran’s resistance and its ability to rebuild its missiles, drones, radar systems, and other military capabilities.

The Wall Street Journal added that a prolonged war could place greater pressure on U.S. military resources and expose global oil markets to prolonged disruption. According to the report, 18 U.S. service members have so far been killed in the war.
