People who seek personal gain and the hollow promotion of their status within the government and nation, and who value nothing beyond that, always align themselves with whatever direction offers them benefit and profit, even if that matter is based on pure lies and deceit.
To achieve such profit and benefit, they never think about what they should sacrifice and what they should offer up for their own gain and loss; rather, they think more about how much of their reputation and fame they can sacrifice to gain several times that and move one step further.
Such people are, in fact, two-faced hypocrites who, in order to achieve their own interests, take on any form and are willing to appear in any guise to create an opportunity for themselves and take advantage of it.
Sometimes they portray themselves as the most benevolent people, speaking of sacrifice, selflessness, and serving the interests of their nation, and sometimes all these virtues and merits turn into malice, bitterness, and enmity in an instant, perhaps to find a place in the hearts of the people thru acting.
Some who held high government positions during the Republic era and were considered prominent and well-known figures in the eyes of the people, were willing to do anything and trample on any right to secure their interests and achieve substantial income thru their fame and status; they even resorted to creating enemies and turning anyone into a hero to win the people’s hearts.
One of these instances was that they always exploited the existing tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan and used the hatred and animosity of the Afghan people toward the intervening Pakistani regime as a tool. They would inflame people’s emotions toward Pakistan and present themselves as defenders of national interests, pounding the rocks of the nation’s anger and enmity against the walls of Pakistan’s rule, portraying themselves as pioneers in this arena; while all these scenes were fabricated to maintain their position.
But now that this wandering group has been sidelined from everyplace and has been pushed to the margins with the wrong front they have chosen, they no longer have those past sentiments nor do they utter those boastful words against Pakistan; rather, they have drawn closer to Pakistan, believing that being alongside Pakistan can be beneficial for them.
There is no doubt that the people of Afghanistan are still the same people as before, and the same anger, hatred, and resentment toward Pakistan’s hostile and aggressive actions still surge in their hearts. But those who in the past introduced themselves as the compassionate representatives of the Afghan people and chanted against Pakistan, today the same two-faced group has chosen silence and remained mute in the face of Pakistan’s bloody actions and ruthless aggressions.
On the contrary, when the powerful government of Afghanistan gives a decisive response to Pakistan, hypocritical words come out of their mouths, and they demand verification and thorough examination of the matter. It seems that these individuals have now come to the conclusion that by aligning themselves with the positions of the Pakistani government, they can secure their own interests and achieve a relative standing in the media and among the opposition.
So it becomes clear that these individuals are, in fact, two-faced people who only think about their own interests and profits, and the suffering and tears that flow from the eyes of this nation mean nothing to them; they only use it as a scapegoat.
This is where one must realize that such individuals are never the strong and reliable walls that a nation can lean on, have confidence in, and be assured of their support in times of necessity and critical conditions.
