Nineteen children who had been sent to Germany for treatment by the Afghan Red Crescent Society, and were suffering from bone infections, returned to the country after completing their treatment and recovery, and were handed over to their families.
The Afghan Red Crescent says that for the past 36 years, based on a signed agreement with the German “Peace Village Charity Foundation,” children suffering from bone infections have been sent to Germany every year for treatment.
According to the Society, around 5,000 children have so far returned to their families after successful treatment in Germany, and the process is still continuing.
