International media have reported that at least 38 miners were died in a gas explosion at a mine in Plateau State, Nigeria.
The incident occurred yesterday (Wednesday) in the Bashar district of the state.
Local officials said that in addition to the 38 fatalities, 27 other people were also injured in the incident.
